Michael Waxman is a senior vice president at Hyde Park Communications. He has extensive public affairs and strategic communications experience, helping a range of corporations, trade associations and non-profit organizations successfully reach and influence elected officials, opinion leaders and other key stakeholders. Projects overseen by Michael have been recognized with the Silver Anvil and Thoth Awards by the Public Relations Society of America's and the Nonprofit PR Award from PR News.

As a spokesperson for his clients, Michael has appeared on CNBC, C-SPAN, Fox Business News and been quoted by outlets such as the Associated Press, Bloomberg, the New York Times and National Journal.

Michael joined Hyde Park after serving as an elected member of the Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees from 2001-2006. The Board manages the largest community college district in the country, consisting of nine colleges and more than 130,000 students. Concurrently, Michael managed Waxman Consulting and provided public affairs support to a variety of real estate development firms and non-profit organizations.

Prior to Waxman Consulting, Michael spearheaded community and government relations efforts as director of public affairs at Charter Communications. At Charter, Michael negotiated franchise agreements with local cities, coordinated outreach to the community and developed several public service campaigns. He also has served as manager of community affairs at Falcon Cable TV where he developed corporate strategies for crisis management and coordinated internal and external communications efforts.

Additionally, Michael was director of the speakers bureau for the California Coordinated Campaign to elect Clinton / Gore in 1996 and as an account executive at Fleishman-Hillard, Inc.

Hel is a graduate of Brandeis University with a B.A. in sociology and minor in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies.
