Community Voices Raised to Improve Health

Client: Community Voices: Healthcare for the Underserved. a program of the National Center for Primary Care at Morehouse School of Medicine Funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation

Objective: Raise the voices of the underserved in the national health debate and improve access and quality health care for all.

Strategy: Crafted a plan to deliver the Community Voices story of diverse communities across the country working to meet the needs of those who receive inadequate or no health care. Informed policy through a publication series built upon lessons learned at the local level. Crafted a specially designed training and skills building program - Community Voices Media University - to help each site tell their important stories effectively to the right audiences.

Result: Headlines like "Health Program a Success," and,"Local Plan Likely to Become a National Model," mark the success of this innovative policy and communications program. Now in its sixth year, Community Voices continues to make a significant contribution to understanding the health care challenges facing communities, advancing recommendations for change, and implementing solutions.
